Blogging

By adding human interest to a post you subsequently add a "personal" relationship with the reader. Instead of cold facts or just a narration of events, adding human interest and personal experiences furthers the connection the blogger may be able to have with the reader. Adding that personal touch isn't as complicated as one may think although there are some things to consider. When "getting personal" you have to be sure you're the individual who should be getting personal, if you're not the face of the brand or you're personal experience doesn't exactly fit the values or ideology of the brand then you most likely shouldn't be getting personal.

Visual Media Part 2

Visual media most definitely works for my type of business. After doing some research I have found several successful business using visual media to expand their brand and increase  exposure.  The Blind Barber NYC - They are using Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. They have about 50K followers on each site. Their last post was today and they do not usually receive many comments on their posts The proportion of followers to likes is about 1%. They post high quality pictures and videos instead of just typical phone pictures.  Barber of hells bottom - This barbershop is located in Washington D.C, they have Facebook and Instagram. They have about 12K followers and their last post was yesterday. They typically receive minimal comments and about 1% of their followers to engage their posts. They post high quality photos.  Adian Gill - This barbershop is located in New Orleans. They use Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. They have 35...

Visual Networks

Visual networks area great tool for business to use. They display content in a more appealing manner and allow users to interact with and view a business in a different medium. All platforms are not built equally and some are more suitable for different types of business than others. With Facebook displaying media is easy and when accompanied with text conveying thoughts and marketing to potential customers can be done easily. Pinterest is a visual platform that puts an emphasis on visual. Through "pins" users can save and go back to items that have peaked their interest, however, for City Kutz I don't feel pinterest is the right direction to go into due to the fact that  it is a bit cumbersome to navigate for novice users. Twitter is another visual platform that has taken the world by storm. This platform I feel is best suited for larger corporations that have an internationally, nationally, or regionally recognized brand, looki...

Business "Likes"

Using the City Kutz business page I choose to like several businesses  1. Oceanside Brewing Company 2. Belching Beaver Brewing Company 3. Oceanside Tattoo 4. Pour House 5. Blackrock Coffee  6. Oceanside Crossfit 7. Oceanside Motorsports I decided to like these pages in particular due to the fact that I believe our target audience frequent these establishments, our target market is males and I think its pretty safe to say that tattoo parlors and breweries are frequented by males. Also I feel as though City Kutz could partner with these business in some capacity in the future, be it discounts etc.

Post reach vs. Post Engagement

Post reach and post engagement are two helpful tools that can be used on Facebook in order to get a better look into what your posts are actually doing and how they re doing. With post reach you're able to see how many people your posts have been seen by or how many people your post has "reached" out too. Engagement is people interacting with these posts, liking them commenting sharing etc.  Knowing the difference between the two is important due to the fact that different businesses have different ways of being successful, a mom and pop bakery might not need to seek thousands upon thousands of people view their information on Facebook and may only need to serve their local area. They might just want to focus on building a solid and loyal customer base and taking car of and interacting with their customers. However a large corporation like Amazon would want to generate both post reach and post engagement they would want to buy cookies to see what people...

Week 5 Post 2

The target market is for City Kutz will be men and women looking to get quality haircuts. Our key demographic will be Marines since the barber shop is located close to Camp Pendleton and military men are required to get haircuts on a regular basis This will allow us to maintain a steady stream of revenue.  Through marketing via social media and community involvement I firmly believe we will be able reach our target audience.
